New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker may be currently sidelined due to injury, but he’s not letting the setback ruin his Holiday spirit.
The NFL star, who is recovering from rotator cuff surgery, teamed up with JC Penney to surprise shoppers with Christmas gifts.
Alongside his wife, country crooner Jessie James Decker, Eric manned a cash register at the department store and added random items (including a waffle maker, coffee grinder, and bluetooth headphones) to lists, jacking in up their sales.
“Is that fine? $340?,” Decker said to a pair of female shoppers in a hidden camera video posted on his Facebook page.
“No!” they said laughing in bewilderment.
The expensive bill was, of course, a practical joke and Decker revealed to every customer that all the extra items were theirs for the price of one penny.
“Watching someone’s face light up after they received a gift that they didn’t expect, that’s the joy worth giving,” Decker says at the end of the video.
Decker lived up to the good celebrity moniker by taking selfies and signing footballs for the shoppers after revealing the surprise.
