Summer is here and there is no better way to spend the sunny days than enjoying them somewhere new; whether that means road tripping a few hours away or taking a twelve hour plane ride. Something to keep in mind, however, is that every year different destinations trend for different reasons. Here is a set list of this years hottest travel places to go to, so grab your sunhat, lotion and passport and get ready.
Munich: This has become a hotspot due to it’s delectable weather (hovering right around the mid-60s) and the fact that the euro is now nearly equal to the dollar doesn’t hurt either. Additionally, Munich’s views, beer gardens and museums are just a few of the many reasons that this colorful destination has become a top choice on the summer list.
Amsterdam: Gorgeous and full of life is a simple way to explain Amsterdam. With the weather being consistently dry and sunny, it’s a pleasant place to be to take in the views or take a bike ride down the main streets. If you enjoy nice walks, this is the place for you as everyone goes on foot and the best part? The city isn’t very big, so it’s entirely possible to see the whole thing without having to pay for extra travel transportation.
Victoria, BC: This quaint area is perfect for a family vacation. The Royal BC Museum houses some beautiful exhibits as well as the tour of Craigdarroch Castle, both of which are at the top of my list. In addition, the Empress Hotel is an amazing place to attend high tea, or simply walk around as it is structurally beautiful and holds an amazing amount of decorated christmas trees during the holiday season, so if you enjoy it during the summer, be sure to return!
Barcelona: Though it has a cosmopolitan feel to it, the city has many areas where sitting back, drinking a beer and relaxing is precisely all that people do. Beside the gorgeous beach, there is plenty to explore with Barcelona’s stunning parks and mountainous regions. If you aren’t up for a massive trek, simply walking around the city itself is worthwhile due to all the eccentric and colorful architecture.
Mykonos: This Grecian getaway is a top favorite this year. Though Greece’s economy seemed to be lacking, the summer life is still doing just fine. With a multitude of outdoor concerts, theater productions and constant parties and feasts, there is no way you could be bored. If clubbing if more your style, Mykonos houses many amazing nightclubs such as Paradise Club and Cavo Paradise, both of which are not for the feint of heart as they don’t begin until 4am.
