Humanity has once again proven this to be true when a team of dedicated volunteers transformed an empty Las Vegas lot into a healing garden.
After the horrible shooting incident that occurred in Mandalay Bay casino that took 58 lives and injured hundreds more, another story of love and compassion is exactly what we need.
The Las Vegas Healing Garden was made available to the public on Friday after the volunteers spent the week planting greenery and paving walkways.

A “Remembrance Wall” where 58 smiling photos of the Las Vegas shooting victims was installed in the oasis.
The garden which was spearheaded by landscape designer Jay Pleggenkuhle of Stonerose Landscapes also mounted a huge oak tree in the middle of the garden called the “Tree of Life”.
The garden which is located at 1015 S Casino Center Blvd. was not originally intended to be permanent. The plan was just for the memory of the victims to have a temporary asylum.

However, for something that is noted to be the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, it only made sense to build a stable sanctuary like this; and the Las Vegas city officials agree. This movement was able to raise $300,000 to cover the construction costs.
Pleggenkuhle received dozens of flower and shrubbery donations from local nurseries, all of which were planted by hundreds of volunteers.
“The cool thing about the park is it’s being built completely by donations and volunteer efforts,” Pleggenkuhle told DTLV.
“The main point of the park wasn’t so much the end result but bringing people together for something positive.”
