What’s the fun in creating a magical world if you don’t enjoy it with other people?!
J.K. Rowling and her international children’s charity, Lumos, recently launched a fundraising campaign through CrowdRise, which will give fans of the Harry Potter universe the chance to visit the set of the second film in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series.
Lumos’ CEO Georgette Mulheir and Fantastic Beasts stars Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler made the announcement via Facebook and live on Twitter on August 14.
In addition to the set visit, the contest, which runs until September 20, includes round trip transportation for two to London, three-night stay in four-star hotel, two tickets to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London- The Making of Harry Potter, and a chance to meet members of the cast including Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Jude Law, Zoe Kravitz, and Johnny Depp.
One lucky winner will also receive an exclusive original painting of Newt Scamander, the hero in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, by Mouth Artist, Henry Fraser. This painting is signed by Rowling, Redmayne and other members of the cast.
Founded by Rowling and named after a spell in the Harry Potter books, Lumos is a nonprofit organization which aims to place children around the world in homes rather than orphanages. Lumos hopes to raise $1 million through this latest campaign.
