Her loyal fans always mean the world to her, but Miranda Lambert was especially touched by an audience member during her Friday performance in Hartford, Connecticut.
While belting out her hit “The House the Built Me,” the country crooner noticed a homemade sign in the crowd, which read, “3 combat tours… Your voice was the last thing I heard every night. Thank you.”

Lambert couldn’t pass up the opportunity to recognize the soldier that made the sign and stopped her song to have the sign brought up onto the stage. She proudly showed it off to the entire audience.
The heartfelt moment brought both Miranda and the soldier in the audience to tears.
As the 32-year-old tried to finish singing her hit, she got some assistance from the audience as she wiped away her joyful tears.
“Sing the verse, I gotta get a drink!” she joked to the crowd.
