Prom is one of the most memorable nights for a high schooler, and “Jane the Virgin’s” Gina Rodriguez just made one lucky lady’s event even more special.
The 31-year-old actress lent her black Badgley Mischka dress that she wore to the 2015 Golden Globes to Jessica Casanova after the Buffalo, NY high school student expressed her wish to wear one of Gina’s gowns via Twitter.
Jessica’s initial tweet:
@HereIsGina so would love to wear your golden globes dress to prom ?

Gina’s reply:
Where do you live? I only own my first globes dress the one from last year…maybe we can make this happen ?? https://t.co/m16qdYETgF — Gina Rodriguez (@HereIsGina) January 28, 2016
The dress Gina lent Jessica is actually the gorgeous gown she wore on the night she won her first Golden Globe for her role in the hit CW series.
And she didn’t just lend the dress to the lucky teen, Gina also paid for the zipper to be replaced with corset strings and made a personalized video, according to the Associated Press.
“I love you, I’m so proud of you. I’m so excited for you. Dance like no one’s watching, have the time of your life. Enjoy every single moment. Make smart decisions and let loose, girl. You look beautiful,” Rodriguez said in the clip.

After the prom, Jessica returned the dress to Gina. The actress tweeted that she wants to pass it along to the next young woman who requests it and create a “Sisterhood of the Travelling Gina Gown,” similar to the hit 2000s flick.
