Could this be the moment the Golden Globe-winning actor Matt Damon sits down on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage? Well, The Martian star is staying optimistic and plans to wait in the green room at the hit ABC talk show until he gets called to the stage. The best part – he is looking for a companion and it’s all benefitting charity.
Damon and Kimmel are engaged in a long-running, purely comedic, feud. For more than a decade, Kimmel books Damon for each of his late night shows and at the end of each episode the host “runs out of time” and cannot bring the Good Will Hunting star on stage.
During Kimmel’s World AIDS Day episode promoting the (RED) campaign, the host video chatted with Damon, who was hanging out in his dressing room. Matt announced that he wanted to auction something off with the help of Omaze to raise money to stop HIV and AIDS from spreading in Africa.
“Well, the winner and a guest will join me in this poorly lit, underground dressing room that I patiently wait in every night, and once here will sit here next to me on this old futon in complete silence while I wait to see if I’m gonna get on the show that night,” Damon said in the hilarious clip.
Fans can enter to win the chance to hang out with Damon in Los Angeles at Jimmy Kimmel Live! until Friday, January 22. All donations benefit (RED) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced that it is matching (RED) donations and money raised in the (RED) SHOPATHON dollar-for-dollar up to $20 million.
A $10 donations gives you 100 entries to hang out with the Oscar winner in the green room where you can snap selfies, discuss his frustrations with Kimmel and snack on craft services specialities. It also includes airfare and your hotel accommodations.
