It’s not often that you hear couture and cancer in the same sentence. Metropolitan Fashion Week is changing that with their upcoming fashion show that features a new segment, 50 Shades of Pink.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the fashion show’s new segment features breast cancer survivors modeling couture evening gowns in various shades of pink. The gowns will then be auctioned, with the proceeds benefitting each model’s preferred breast cancer charity.
The event will also action off other items including a Swarovski necklace, gifts from reality star Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Lounge and a private flight from Prestige Private Air worth $10,000.
Wanting to combine great fashion with a great cause, the show will feature dresses from top designers like Perry Meek, Inoe Vargas and Mireille Dagher. Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Giuliana Rancic and Gabrielle Union have worn their designs in the past. A complete list of designers can be found at http://bit.ly/1VvrnMn.
TV personality and fashion expert, Eduardo Khawam, is expected to host the show. Designs featured in previous years’ shows have gone on to be worn by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Katy Perry.
With over 150 one-of-a-kind designs to be featured and lots of money raised for breast cancer research, this fashion event is one you do not want to miss.
