A North Carolina mother and son are taking the Internet by storm — all thanks to their killer dance moves.
Ginny Jenkins and her son Scott brought out their best moves during a recent talent show at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, in a showstopping performance chronicling the history of dance.
Jenkins, a guidance counselor at the school, teamed up with her son in the show to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The mother-son duo were a hit at the event, with the crowd cheering as they performed dance moves new and old.
They kicked off their display with Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” before performing the Macarena and the spotlight was on Jenkins as she showed off her “Cotton-Eyed Joe” skills.
“I thought it would be fun to do a little dance. I conned my son, who also likes to dance as much as I do, to do it with me,” Jenkins told WCNC. If you asked most of our friends, we’re the dancing goofy ones in the family for sure.”
Scott added: “What you saw was nothing out of the ordinary.”
Video footage of their performance, shared on the Myers Park High School Facebook page, has amassed more than 25 million views.
When he’s not busting a move with his mother, Scott works as an accountant, according to the Charlotte Observer. In his spare time, he makes music with his brother, Mark Jenkins — they go by the names Scholar and MKay. They have a website filled with rap videos.
