Stepping out for a charity-driven evening, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber struck a pose at the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue over the weekend (May 20).
The model and her beau served as hosts for the evening’s Champion of Children Awards, which was celebrated with a Hollywood-themed gala in the California town.
The night’s honorees included Flint, Michigan activist LeeAnne Walters, U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu, and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District board member Oscar De La Torre. All of these incredible individuals were honored with the the America Unites for Kids Champion of Children Award.
In addition to cocktails and entertainment, the gala featured a special speech by Environmental Working Group President Ken Cook.
Cindy and Rande temporarily withdrew their children from Malibu High School due to their belief there is toxic contamination at the campus. They are now advocates for PCB removal at schools nationwide.
During another charity event over the weekend, Cindy spoke to People about her children and said, “I think that we just want our kids to be happy, and do what they want to do, and support them.”
“In terms of modeling it’s like, I wouldn’t talk them out of it, but I’m not pushing them in that way,” she added while talking to reporters at The Heart Foundation Event Honoring Mike Meldman in Beverly Hills.
