The biggest names in television, film, and music will come together to have fun and raise money for children in need during NBC’s fourth annual The Red Nose Day Special, airing Thursday, May 24 at 10 p.m. ET. Hosted by comedian Chris Hardwick, the telecast will be broadcast live from Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.

NBC’s three-hour star-studded night of Red Nose Day programming will also include the second annual edition of Celebrity Ninja Warrior for Red Nose Day (featuring Zooey Deschanel) at 8 p.m. ET and a special episode of Hollywood Game Night airing at 9 p.m. ET.

The one-hour special will include Kelly Clarkson (here with Blake Shelton) visiting a local elementary school to celebrate students who are raising money for Red Nose Day, while helping them realize their power to make a difference and inspire positive change for children who are in need. Clarkson will visit a third-grade classroom, attend a Red Nose Day Rally, and participate in a student-run fair featuring fun and creative activities to raise funds for Red Nose Day. Clarkson and the kids will team up to shine a light on all of the amazing students who make a difference.

Other stars joining the special in support of the annual Red Nose Day charity campaign include Cedric the Entertainer, Sean Hayes, Jack Black, Jennifer Garner, Kristen Bell, Julia Roberts, Ed Sheeran, Marlon Wayans, Ellie Kemper, Tony Hale, Sasheer Zamata, Jane Lynch, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Matt Iseman, and Jack McBrayer.

Funds raised support programs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and some of the poorest communities internationally to ensure that children who are living in poverty are safe, healthy, and educated.

Supporters have long been able to purchase the campaign’s iconic red noses, but this year there’s also the Sparkle Red Nose, which is new and in recognition of raising over $100 million in just three years and helping over 8 million children in need.

Red Noses are on sale exclusively at Walgreens and Duane Reade locations nationwide. Over 8 million of the Red Noses have already been sold, with all profits from all sales benefitting Red Nose Day.

It’s fair to say that Red Nose Day 2016 went off without a hitch as Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered together for the annual event on Thursday evening (May 26).

Hosted by Craig Ferguson, the annual two-hour fundraiser aired on NBC and included sketches, performances and live appearances by a bevy of famous faces including Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Anna Kendrick, Chloe Moretz, Emma Watson, Paul Rudd, Mandy Moore, Seth Rogen, Jay Leno, Zac Efron, Ellen DeGeneres, Rose Byrne, and many more.

Red Nose Day is a special campaign, created by Richard Curtis and run by Comic Relief, to support children who live in poverty around the world. Over the last 25 years, the campaign has raised more than $1 billion to alleviate these negative living conditions for those in need.

This year, nearly $31 million was raised from generous donors who called in to pledge their funds.

The donors had an opportunity to chat with their favorite stars as “Veep’s” Tony Hale, “Big Bang Theory’s” Johnny Galecki, “Parks & Rec’s” Retta, Minnie Driver, Ben Feldman, YouTube star Grace Helbig, and Kunis and Kutcher manned the phones.

According to E! News, the happy couple had a blast during the live, two-hour special. “As soon as the show started, Ashton put on his red nose and took a selfie.

Meanwhile, Mila was watching the video with blank stare until Ashton turned to her with the nose; she laughed when he stuck his tongue out.” Before the start of the show, Kutcher took time to chat with fans on his Facebook Live page.

Overall, all the stars who participated helped raise awareness for children’s poverty and raised millions of dollars to help the cause. Check out some celebrity snaps from Red Nose Day below!

What would you do if you saw a poverty-stricken child on the street? No doubt you would stop to help, whether with food or blankets or money. But what about all the children affected by poverty that you don’t see every day? Today there are children all over the United States and the entire world living in poverty. It’s becoming an epidemic that desperately needs our attention. Thankfully, Red Nose Day is making a substantial effort to make a difference and change lives.

Red Nose Day

Run by the UK non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc., Red Nose Day USA is a campaign that recently spent an entire day raising funds for children in need. The focus of the day is to start by bringing happiness and laughter to those kids, and from there, create awareness that turns into donations to the cause.

The entire event was then broadcasted as a three-hour entertainment special on NBC, bringing in some of Hollywood’s top talent in singers, actors and comedians to encourage people to donate. All over the country, people went to their local Walgreens to buy little red noses and vendor partner products and then donated during the NBC special. Donations were spread between 12 different charities that help children in poverty, including Boys & Girls Clubs, Children’s Health Fund, National Council of La Raza, National Urban League, Save the Children, Oxfam America and more.

Now a little over six months after the event, the Red Nose Day Campaign is pleased to announce that they have raised over $23 million to help those in need! This money has been spread across all 50 states of the United States as well as 15 international countries. Even further, Red Nose Day helped to serve almost eight million meals to children in the U.S. through food banks.

You may remember the Coldplay musical with the cast of Game of Thrones and some of the comedy skits by Reese Witherspoon and Gwen Stefani, and other A-list celebrities.

But Red Nose Day is about more than just food. The funds raised also helped to educate over 200,000 American children to reading level and provided essential health care for 50,000 children and their families. And that’s just in the United States!

Internationally, funds raised from Red Nose Day supplied more than 170,000 essential and life-saving vaccinations to children in Africa and delivered clean water to over 30,000 children and their families all across Africa.

Richard Curtis, co-founder of Red Nose Day, was thrilled with the outcome. “I love the fact that this was all done by people having fun and being funny… I thank and salute everyone who played a part in making this happen and really look forward to next year,” he said of the event’s success.

The president of Red Nose Day USA, Paul Telegdy, added “It’s so wonderful to know that so many children will benefit because of what was achieved on the inaugural Red Nose Day. I can think of nothing better than to do it again next year and continue this worthwhile and important mission.”

The tremendous success of Red Nose Day means even more success for children that currently have to survive in poverty. Your donation today can help a child in need. To donate, click here.
