On February 11, 1964, The Beatles performed at the Coliseum in Washington, DC and about 35 minutes of film was taken of their iconic performance. Ace Arts and Screenvision has been doing their best to release the footage which has additional pictures and commentary, making a full 92 minute video titled ‘The Beatles: The Lost Concert’. However, Sony interrupted the process and in May of 2012 they, alongside Apple Corp, obtained the footage in an attempt to prevent the release. Of course, as the rebuttal, Ace Arts sued Sony for “wrongfully interfering.”

This past Wednesday, after a long and complicated legal battle, Sony won the final court battle held in the U.K. that claims Ace Arts infringed upon Sony’s copyrights both in the United States, as well as in England. The final verdict was decided due to the fact that Sony owns eight of the twelve songs on the footage that was supposed to be released.  The entire set list for the video consisted of: Roll Over Beethoven, From Me to You, I Saw Her Standing There, This Boy, All My Loving, I Wanna Be Your Man, Please Please Me, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Want to Hold Your Hand, Twist and Shout, Long Tall Sally.

Though we understand the final decision maybe one day we’ll get to see a sneak peek of that footage…. Maybe…
