Proving it’s never too late to share holiday spirit, Brantley Gilbert made a huge contribution to an organization close to his heart earlier this week. The “Bottoms Up” singer graciously donated $10.5 million to the Toys for Tots charity, helping the organization supply gifts for children in need.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys from October through December every year from hubs around the country. In the final month, the organization’s members distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in communities across America.
Toys for Tots is an organization close to Gilbert’s heart primarily due to his southern upbringing.
“Growing up in rural Georgia, I know that sometimes Christmas isn’t a time of joy for some kids and our contribution might be all they receive this year, so I really wanted our donation to matter,” Gilbert told the press.
“I’m honored the folks of Bendon understood why I wanted to work with them and Toys for Tots.”
The country star is a regular supporter of America’s troops through donations and supportive messages on his social media accounts. As a result, he said the Marine partnership was a natural fit.
