The President delayed Air Force One’s departure from Indianapolis on Wednesday so he could speak with a motorcycle officer from his motorcade who had crashed on the way to the airport.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) tweeted Thursday that the President had delayed his departure in order to speak with officer Robert Turner.
Turner suffered a broken ankle and a possible concussion. He was photographed lying on the ground with his uniform ripped.
The IMPD released a cellphone video of Turner taking the call from the President while being treated by paramedic staff. Wearing a neck brace, he appeared to be in stable condition and in good spirits.
