Mark Wahlberg is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood but he still makes time to visit with patrons at his Wahlburgers fast food chain and on September 7, he popped in on some very special visitors in Boston.
The Patriots Day star posed for photos and chatted with members of Jett Foundation as they celebrated World Duchenne Awareness Day at the Fenway Park location of the restaurant.
Located in Kingston, Massachusetts, Jett Foundation is a nonprofit organization which strives to increase awareness and raise funds for research in the hopes of finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
According to the organization’s website, approximately 1 in every 3,500 males are born with Duchenne and there are roughly 15,000 diagnosed patients living today in the United States.
“Jett Foundation is so grateful for the entire Wahlberg family’s support for and dedication to the Duchenne community,” the organization posted on Facebook.
Mark not only posed with members of Jett but found a new pal in Destinee, a child currently battling the disease.
Ten percent of all sales on September 7 from three Massachusetts locations of Wahlburgers went towards Jett Foundation.
