Multi-talented artist Daddy Yankee has a smile that can light up a room, but he recently met his match in a cancer patient from Spain.
While on tour in the European country, the Puerto Rican singer visited a young girl named Andrea at the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid, and the two became instant friends. During his visit, the duo even broke out into a rendition of his worldwide hit “Despacito.” Thankfully, the performance was captured on camera, and it’s since become a viral smash on the internet.
Yankee’s visit with children stricken with blood diseases and cancers was orchestrated between the singer, the hospital, and Juegaterapia, a Spain-based organization that works on creative projects to help kids with cancer.
“It was a revolution! The singer was committed and super caring with the parents and patients,” said Juegaterapia press chief, Lourdes Amayas.
“Andrea is an incredible girl. She has a strength and vitality that cannot be described. She’s a superfan [of Daddy Yankee]. She is very shy, but she felt so good that she went for it. And besides being a real fighter, she sings very well. We are all excited,” she added.

“Despacito” is a collaborative project between Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi and the remix of the tune (which also features Justin Bieber) is dominating the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Despite the massive success of the talented trio, Yankee’s new version with Andrea is our favorite!
