Two music legends and a legend-in-the-making won the night at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
Drake was the big winner for the evening, taking home a staggering 13 awards, which broke Adele’s single-year mark. The rapper showed love to those who helped him accomplish the feat by accepting the Top Artist award onstage with his songwriters, producers and father, Dennis Graham.

Drake also gave a shout out to Nicki Minaj while accepting one of his awards. “I’m so glad we found our way back, and I love you, and I couldn’t see it any other way,” he told her from the stage. Minaj, herself, was a highlight of the night, delivering a medley of her hit songs to open the show.
Thank you to Billboard for their unbelievable hospitality to my entire team. To my fans: love you guys so much! 😘😘😘♥️♥️♥️ pic.twitter.com/UIO5tkBvUB

20 years after her Titanic single “My Heart Will Go On” dominated the charts, Celine Dion returned to the Billboard stage to belt out the tune and she sounded better than ever.
Cher won the Icon Award and added two more iconic performances to her 53-year career, performing “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time.” During her acceptance speech, she joked about the key to her longevity. “I’m 71 yesterday. And I can do a five minute plank, ok. Just saying,” Cher said.
As one of the most dominant figures in music & entertainment for over SIX DECADES, @cher is SO deserving of the #BBMAs Icon Award! #IconCher pic.twitter.com/4Of5sjZDG4

If there was a surprise during the show, it was South Korean boy band BTS winning Top Social Artist over Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes, becoming the first K-pop group to win a Billboard Music Award.
“We still cannot believe that we’re standing here on this stage at the Billboard Music Awards,” said BTS member Kim Nam-joon. “It is so great to see all the artists we admire, and we feel honored to be in this category with all these great artists right in front of us.”
