Johnny Depp sure does love playing Captain Jack Sparrow.
Not only will the actor appear as the swashbuckler for a fifth time on the big screen in this summer’s, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but now he’s dressing up as the character in public.
Visitors to Disneyland recently experienced Depp’s enthusiasm for Sparrow firsthand. While enjoying the classic ride from which the film series is based, riders were shocked to see Depp, in full costume, greeting them as the ride’s boats passed through.

This isn’t the first time Depp has donned the Sparrow costume off set. The actor routinely suits up and visits children’s hospitals, making stops in London and Brisbane, Australia.
In 2016, he made another surprise appearance at Disneyland, this time as the Mad Hatter while promoting Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. Depp dressed up at a location outside the park and spoke with visitors through and interactive billboard via a live stream video.
