What do David Beckham, Heidi Klum, and pinky promises have in common? They all support UNICEF’s #MakeAPromise campaign that raises awareness for helping kids in crisis around the world.
The nonprofit teamed up with luxury brand Louis Vuitton for the release of special pendants and bracelets that raise funds to help children around the globe suffering from diseases and natural disasters.
As for David, a UNICEF ambassador, and Heidi’s role in this campaign, the pair pinky promised that would support the cause as they attended the sixth Biennial UNICEF Ball in Los Angeles.
The soccer stud and model joined Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr, Priyanka Chopra, and Mariah Carey at the star-studded events to promote the campaign. Celebs have also been actively sharing images on social media, saying that they’re making the pinky promise to combat these hardships around the world.
During the Ball, David was honored with the Humanitarian Leadership Award for his work helping children through 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund.
He shared a photo on his Instagram page with a group of his benefactors and wrote, “Extremely honored to receive the @UNICEFUSA’s Humanitarian Leadership Award this evening at the #UNICEFBall. I can’t wait to continue doing all I can for Unicef and my 7 Fund, 7.org, to help children across the world.”
Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish presented Beckham with the award.
In addition, Louis Vuitton plans to donate $200 to the organization for each sale of these Silver Locket pendants ($600) or bracelets ($500).
