“When you start your day out right, it just fills your soul with goodness. That goodness is contagious,” said Giles Harrison, celebrity paparazzi in a clip for Jimmy Dean’s new campaign, Shine it Forward.
The breakfast brand urges everyone to start their day with optimism and positivity.
In addition to consuming its sausage products, Jimmy Dean wants you to notice all the good people are doing in our community. To focus your attention on these acts of kindness, the company teamed up with professional photogs for its “Paparazzi for Good” initiative, a branch of its new campaign.
The company seeks to discover people doing selfless acts on a day-to-day basis and just living among us, said Karmen Conrad, Director of Marketing for Jimmy Dean.
She added that paparazzi are the perfect group of people to kick off this initiative because they’re covert and trained to capture candid moments.
Jimmy Dean plans to use these photos in magazine ads for publications like US Weekly and People where we’re used to seeing celebrities’ day-to-day lives.
“Looking back at the pictures I took today it fills me with a sense of passion, a sense of purpose,” Harrison said in the clip about his new assignment that focuses on capturing good, not a celebrity buying their groceries.
“We want to encourage people to look around and see all the good that is happening and hopefully create some inspiration so that they have a more positive outlook,” said Conrad.
“They can shine that forward and help this movement spread,” she added.
Jimmy Dean urges everyone to get involved in capturing these positive moments and sharing their pictures with the world on social media. You can participate by submitting your snapshots of people doing good on its website, or social media using the hashtag #ShineOnPics.
The company picks a photo of the week and the photographer wins $500 for their submission.
“It doesn’t need to be a grand gesture,” said Conrad. “It can be something as simple as opening a door for a stranger or looking someone in the eye and giving them a smile or a compliment.”
