Well, gentlemen – it’s official. Amy Schumer is off the market. The internet went wild on Wednesday (January 6) when the Trainwreck star officially announced that she is dating Chicago-based furniture designer, Ben Hanisch.
The 29-year-old handyman posted a photo on New Year’s Eve (December 31) of the pair, adding the caption, “Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here’s to what adventures 2016 brings!”
The 34-year-old wasn’t following Ben at the time, so the post flew under the radar until this week when she also made an announcement about her new beau. Not expecting anything less, the Comedy Central star shared a photo of President Barack Obama on Twitter to announce her fling, adding the caption, “Well the word is out. It’s official. Here’s my new boyfriend. #StopGunViolence”

She followed up her comical post with an Instagram snapshot filled with good intentions. Schumer cuddles up to Hanisch in the image that boasts a simple link caption that leads fans to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Amy’s father has MS and the organization she supports raises money for people with the disabling disease.
The pair is in the Nation’s Capitol this week during President Obama’s legislation to reform gun laws, which Amy avidly supports. She’s actively advocated against gun violence, especially after the shooting death of two women during a showing of her film Trainwreck last year.
Hanisch shared a pic of the pair in Washington D.C. with the caption, “So proud of this babe!!#StopGunViolence”
We hope the duo keeps up their philanthropic efforts…
