Introducing a new app to help you help others: ChariPick. Picky about picking your charities? There’s an app for that. Rather, there’s now an app for that. Stephen Lee, founder and CEO of ChariPick, has just released his new app to help people find and donate to new charities. As they say, “Giving just got awesome.”
How does it work?
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you fill out information about yourself: What do you like to give? How much? Per day, per week, per month? What charities do you usually support? Based on your answers, ChariPick will return a short list of charities that you might want to donate to. This list changes daily. Pick one to donate to, and set it all up!
Lee hopes this app will boost the habit of giving. With easy access to some of the charities that aren’t as well-known, there is no excuse. Not only will this make it easier for people to give, but it will help grow those charities that are smaller or mid-sized. The current list has over 100 nonprofit organizations and is only growing. All nonprofits have been vetted and are guaranteed to have clear mission statements and goals—it is more than just a random group of charities that need help.
ChariPick’s fee is 6.75% of each donation, used to cover company costs for software development and charity marketing. Their ultimate goal? Create a social movement around charities. With more access to charities, people can give more, and maybe it can become a happy trend to donate as much as possible.
