Emma Watson recently launched her campaign HeForShe last year with a speech that she gave which sent the internet into a buzz. HeForShe describes itself as a “solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity, for the benefit of all.”
UN Women executive director, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka on Watson’s cause: “Her commitment to the issues that we work on at UN Women multiplies our ability to reach and engage more young people- who are key to advancing gender equality.” Emma’s responded to her win by tweeting:
