Pippa Middleton attended the Brighton Bike Ride in London the weekend of June 20th for the British Heart Foundation. The event, begun by Robert Stredder, was created in 1975 to resemble the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. However, instead of cars, Stredder and his partner for the event’s creation wanted to use bicycles to help raise funds for heart disease research. The route bikers take makes up a whopping 54-miles from London to the coastal area of Brighton, allowing the event to hold the title of Europe’s oldest and largest bike ride for charity.
Pippa did her part to contribute to the charity by partnering up with Tabitha Webb, well-known London based designer. The two created a dress and scarf to be sold but only as limited edition items for which all profits will go to the British Heart Foundation. Before the event, Pippa discussed her enthusiasm stating, “I am thrilled to be involved in this milestone year of the London to Brighton Bike Ride. There was such a great atmosphere at Clapham and I can’t wait to get down to Brighton and see all my fellow riders cross the finish line.”
